Film Opening Research 2

  • how many titles are displayed during the opening sequences to the film?
There are plenty titles displayed in a wall of pictures, ZDF German Television Network, Warner Films Production, later on it show the title of the movie "Dance Academy", and then the names of the producers in another scene.
  • what images are prioritized in the opening sequence?
We can see a wall full of pictures of what it seems to be the main character, we see her dancing pictures with a voice over of her explaining that she doesn't dance anymore, later on we can see the group of dancers getting ready to perform, but she is watching them at work.
  • what connotations do the images carry?
We can connotate that her struggle is that she loves dancing but she's not able to do it anymore, showing the difference between her and her dancer friends.I might guess the the angle of the movie is about her trying to dance again.
  • how is genre reinforced through symbolic and technical codes from the outset?
The genre is reinforced trough the symbolic codes from the outset  by showing the the dance performance with the other girls, and then shifting to her watching it on the tv of her job. The atmosphere changes from a peaceful surrounding to a more stressful one.
  • how does the film establish an enigma from the outset?
It establishes the enigma at the very beginning when she's explaining that she loves dancing but she cant do it anymore. 
  • what strategies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience?
The target audience is mostly dancers, it attracts them already by the title, the dance performance, her struggle, some factors which most dancers might relate to
  • how has technology been used effectively?
Technology was used effectively showing the close-ups of the pictures at the very beginning, then the dancer getting ready showing a mellow and delicate atmosphere, close-ups of them putting on make up, the camera is very still during all these shots, then when she's at work the atmosphere is very problematic, the camera is shaky, the shots are very monotonic.

Camera Angles Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse

Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse (2018)  I chose to comment on this movie because the visuals and the CGI are beautiful. I also think there is plenty of camera angles examples that, although is an animated movie, they express plenty of emotions that make this movie very interesting and visually appealing. Here are some good examples I found of some camera angles:  Close-up Shot This is one of my favorite scenes. Miles Morales has been told that he doesn't fit with the spider-men from other dimensions because he's not week, he's tighten up in a chair right now. His dad encourages him to not give up and he develops this new type of "lighten"super power that makes him stronger and now he's able to escape from the chair and go back to the adventure, giving the viewer hope, a sense of closeness to Miles, curiosity about what's Miles next action.  Locked -down Shot This is a very funny scene. His dad wants him to say "I love you dad"

week 2- casting and filming

After finishing the script, setting up shots and finding locations. This week me and my partner Imani started to look for talent. We tried to look for actors that will fit the requirements perfectly. Along with portraying the characters personality by just their looks. This video is a behind the scenes of the shot were Luna is being picked up. We can see all the characters and how they also helped us a little. This picture was taken during the filming of the scene were the second character was introduced. We can see the car behind her and the rest of the characters as well. This is in our way to film lol.
